if high school girls were this cute!

it's hitome from vision of escaflowne. a girl having psychic powers, which brings her to a whole new world called Gaea if i remember correctly. (it has been a while since i watched this anime). i was browsing for some good wallies when i came across this wallpaper. it really struck me the first time i saw her again. which is kinda weird. i never felt something special for her when i watched the anime years ago. i was liable. what if i'm doing the same in my 'real' life? what if i'm really trying hard to look for miss perfect that i unconsciously neglect those people out there who like me for me? somehow.. my motives are put into question. and i have no other reply to give except 'sorry, i dont know'.

those fancy icons are from Gentoo's icon set. the effects like that window which print information and the little xmms remote on the lower left portion are part of a program called gdesklets. you can get it at gdesklets dot gnomedesktop dot org. its a nice addition to any window manager. and trust me. if you wanna win in some desktop competition you must submit screen dumps with gdesklets. its an eye candy!

more than the usual

this is virtual terminal one of my Gentoo linux box, pronounced - jen two lie nux. it is a 1024x768 resolution verbose boot splash. the background is made possible through what is called vesa frame buffer.

the wallpaper is called 'syrene'. you can get it from shadowness dot com. originally, it is a blue colored wallie, but i wanted a more bloody looking background so i desaturated it and recolored it red. the bootsplash config editing also took a while to get the hang of.

hi. amerei here. and what you are looking at right now is my screenshot collection of former desktops that i enjoyed. dont ask me why i'm doing this. i dont know the answer myself. it just hit me one day, and before i knew it, i was hooked on photo blogging. a somewhat spontaneous decision.

most of the wallpapers that i use are just some pictures i come across when surfing the web. i have every reason to believe that i have this unparalled luck of stumbling across such sweet works of art, mostly hidden, waiting to be discovered and used. i dont have a girlfriend so i spend most of my time with my computer. having so much free time on my hands.. i sometimes play 'designer' with my pc. adorning it with the slickest themes at my disposal, carefully noting any change in the pc performance-wise.

every wallpaper and every theme i use has some story to it. this blog takes you to my world; into my life. where the girl's are cute, colors are vivid and the fonts are smooth. everything is in harmony with each other... like in a chinese shaolin monk movie. i'll try to recount to you all the memories i had as i show my wallies. some happy, some sad. some bitter. but all enriching.
